Bachelors of Arts in Community Studies | University of California Santa Cruz
Masters of Clinical Mental Health Counseling: Mindfulness Based Transpersonal Counseling | Naropa University
My path to this work has never been a straight line. Over the years, I have worked as a chef, landscape designer, massage therapist, yoga teacher, business manager, marketer, counselor, and coach. Each of these experiences has shaped the way I understand people, creativity, relationships, and the process of meaningful change.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Community Studies and a master’s degree in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling. My professional training includes Internal Family Systems, Gestalt therapy, Jungian dreamwork, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. My background also includes yoga, Qigong, and training in bodywork and energy practices.
Contemplative practice has been an important part of my life since I was 18, when I began studying with a meditation teacher from India. Over the years, my practice has included meditation, mantra, pranayama, visualization, chanting, and wilderness meditation retreats. Alongside these traditions, I have developed a deep interest in neuroscience, depth psychology, mindfulness, and the ways our inner patterns shape how we experience ourselves and the world.
Today, I bring these different strands together in my work. I run The Practice of Transformation as my coaching practice and also work separately as a Professional Counselor Associate. Alongside my own counseling practice, I work within the Corvallis community at a clinical agency, alongside practitioners offering psychiatric and ketamine-assisted therapy services.
What connects all of these experiences is a longstanding curiosity about what helps us become more fully ourselves. I believe transformation involves more than changing a behavior or solving a problem. It can involve understanding the patterns that have shaped us, reconnecting with parts of ourselves that have been forgotten or pushed aside, and bringing our lives into greater alignment with what we truly value.
Outside of my work, I love being a dad to my two children, spending time in nature, traveling, playing guitar, and deepening my own meditation and chanting practices. I live in Corvallis, Oregon, with my wife, who is also a counselor, and our two teenage children.
The Practice of Transformation grew out of this lifelong exploration—bringing together psychological understanding, contemplative wisdom, embodied awareness, and practical approaches to change in service of greater clarity, connection, and wholeness.
